Weekly Cold Plunge

About Our Cold Plunge Challenge

Join us every Wednesday morning for our weekly cold plunge, breathwork and guided qigong. This is a free and open event which serves as a great opportunity for those seeking some accountability and incentive in making cold exposure a part of your weekly routine.

Each week, we start with 3 rounds of Wim Hof Breathwork lead by Flying Sage Community Leader Gabriel Largaespada, then we plunge in the ocean, followed by some guided Qigong movements from Kiem Schutter. We want to bring a meditative aspect to this event and so we ask that during the plunge itself, you remain silent so that everyone can have space to feel into the sensations brought about by the cold.

We are currently running our third Cold Plunge Challenge which started on October 11th. This challenge will run for 11 weeks and the last plunge of this challenge will be on December 20th. Although it is too late now to join the challenge, anyone is welcome to drop in for these events.

For those that are able to attend all 11 of our weekly plunges, they will win…

If you would like to join the next challenge which we will start in January 2024, make sure to join our mailing list or follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop.

  • Essentials: Bathing suit, warm layers, change of clothing. Umbrella or rainjacket if it is raining to keep you and your things dry. Sandals or water shoes to wear in the ocean and during the Qigong.

Optional: A poncho or robe to make changing easier for you after. Warm tea.

  • 1.) You will only be able to miss one cold plunge to remain in the challenge. And even still, if you do miss one, you will need to make it up and share on social (or send to us if you do not have social media or choose not to use it)*

2.) Your plunge counts as long as you make it in the water with us. If you are late and miss the breathwork, your plunge will still count. Likewise, if you have to leave before the Qigong, it will also still count.

Location

7:30am sharp at Kitsilano Beach. Look for the white Flying Sage tent on the West end of the beach.
