Kits Meetup - Gong and 5-MeO-DMT Sound Bath

  • The Stretch Space 2188 York Avenue Vancouver, BC, V6K 3E7 Canada (map)

Introducing Our Kits Meetups

Every other Wednesday we gather as a community at The Stretch Space to connect and expand together. For these events, we invite local facilitators to join us in offering unique workshops with a different theme each week. Through these events, we seek to offer transformation, connection and peak experiences all while providing a container to connect with other like-minded people in the community. The focus here is on diversity of experience so you can expect something different each time!

These events are open to the public and are discounted/free for our members.

About This Week’s Meetup: Gong and 5-MeO-DMT Sound Bath

Gong sound practitioner Aravind will be bringing his majestic gongs to resonate with our deep, inner frequencies and vibrations. Opening with a grounding breathwork, we will travel with the gongs to balance our mind, body, and spirit, landing us in a state of profound tranquility.

We will then enter a serene, gentle sound bath, featuring singing bowls, chimes, and nature sounds, during which psychedelic facilitators Sagan and Helena will serve an optional meditative dose of 5-MeO-DMT, the God molecule. We invite intentions of presence, curiosity, and being in our bodies. We will gather in circle before the experience to prepare and after to share.

Schedule:

6:30pm - Arrival

6:45pm - Introduction and intention circle

7:05pm - 5-MeO-DMT overview

7:35pm - Breathwork and gong journey

8:35pm - 5-MeO-DMT sound bath

9:10pm - Guided meditation

9:15pm - Sharing and closing circle

About This Week’s Facilitators:

Aravind Vanchesan

Aravind Vanchesan is a meditation teacher and sound practitioner. For over twenty years, he has been on a personal journey, studying and exploring the intersection of mindfulness and sound. During this period, he began working with range of instruments - crystal bowls, tibetan bowls, tingsha bells - that are often used as a support for contemplative practices in many Eastern traditions.

His deepest connection is with Gongs, which are capable of producing extraordinary sounds, frequencies and vibrations that still the mind, drop listeners into deep meditation and awaken with a better sense of “what is”. Aravind’s vision is to continue holding space for people from all walks of life to slow down, connect to their senses, and embark on their mindfulness journeys. He has lead group meditations and immersive sound bath sessions for hundreds of people in Vancouver.

Sagan & Helena

Psychedelic facilitators Helena and Sagan are passionate about being in service in helping fellow human beings as they take the journey back to their hearts. They facilitate transformative 5-MeO-DMT private and group experiences, a work they approach from a place of presence, compassion, acceptance, and love. They believe that creating a safe and loving container is the best foundation for the natural unfolding of our inner healing intelligence, including in the integration process.

  5. Water bottle

  6. Anything else you’d like to have with the experience

Precautions/Contraindications:

Some substances can have dangerous interactions with 5-MeO-DMT. These include: MAOIS, which are most commonly prescribed as antidepressants (e.g. selegiline and phenelzine). The herbal supplement harmala or Syrian rue is a natural MAOI, and should not be combined with 5-MeO-DMT. Additionally, the antibiotic linezolid has MAOI properties and is also contraindicated.

There is no contraindication with non-MAOI antidepressants such as SSRIs or Wellbutrin. Other contraindicated medications are lithium and 5-HTP. We recommend not taking kambo for several weeks after 5-MeO-DMT as it can lead to a much more extreme reaction from the kambo. Taking kambo before 5- MeO-DMT is ok.
