Introducing Our Kits Meetups
Our Kits Meetups are one of our longest standing events with The Flying Sage. For each of these events, we like to invite new and local facilitators to lead unique workshops designed to inspire transformation, connection, and peak experiences. The focus here is on diversity of experience so you can expect something different each time!
Each week, we invite local facilitators to lead us through unique workshops designed to inspire transformation, foster deep connections, and create peak experiences. These events are more than just workshops though—they're opportunities to meet and bond with like-minded individuals, all within a supportive and vibrant community.
Join us as we explore new ideas, expand our horizons, and connect with others on this journey of growth and discovery. We can't wait to see you there!
About This Week’s Meetup: Medicine Song & Drum Circle
Humans have been gathering in circle, drumming and singing since the very beginning; it's in our blood, it's in our bones, it's our human nature.
We each have a drum in our chest, our heartbeat. When we were in the womb we were held by our Mother's heartbeat, and the sound of the drum connects us to the heart of our Great Mother Earth.
When we drum together, we unite our hearts.
When we sing together, our souls dance with one another.
I hold this playful space to share the songs I've come to learn and love dearly over the years. I carry many songs from different traditions around the world; Yawanawa, Zimbabwe, Lakota, Sanskrit, Quechua, Mauri, Aztec… songs that offer prayers of blessings and gratitude to Mother Earth, invoke our Cosmic Essence, and sing to honor our siblings the plants and animals.
Paradoxically enough this evening is less about being good at singing, but more so about feeling, and liberating our expression, connecting to our hearts and one another. The result is an immense felt sense of belonging, feeling grounded and nourished.
So let us come together, unite our voices, and have fun!
Note: this is not a djembe drum circle, but a medicine/hoop/frame drum circle.
That being said, all types of drums are welcome!
I have extra hoop drums and rattles so everyone gets a chance to play the drum. If you have your own drum, please bring it with you!
No singing experience is required.
No one will be asked to sing alone. All skill (and non-skill!) levels are welcome.
