About This mastermind:
Join us for our virtual Psychedelic Business Mastermind facilitated by Dr. Ivan Casselman and Steph Martens. This online container will start on March 28th and will run bi-weekly on Tuesday evenings for 3 months. This focussed and streamlined group will be geared to any entrepreneurs operating a business in the psychedelic ecosystem.
This mastermind will offer a focused and streamlined approach, providing a space for brainstorming, problem-solving, and mutual support. Together, we'll work towards becoming the best versions of ourselves in business and beyond.

Learning Modules & Structure
Each session of this mastermind will include a learning topic. We will be covering things like incorporation and business structure, accounting and legal as well as routes to funding. Stay tuned as we release more details on these learning modules.

Cadence/Timing
Every other Tuesday from 6:00-7:00pm PST starting on March 28th.
This first mastermind offering will run for 6 sessions and will end on June 6th.
About Your Facilitators: Ivan & Steph
Dr. Ivan Casselman
Dr. Ivan Casselman is a Psychedelic Scientist, Ethnobotanist, and entrepreneur. With a focus on the psychedelic and herbal medicine market, Dr. Casselman has started and run several companies in Canada, the UK, Jamaica, the USA, and Australia. He is an accomplished, solutions-focused senior executive and business/scientific strategies, advisor.
His research includes the human use of psychedelics (ethnobotany and ethnopharmacy) and the study of psychedelic plants (genetics and analytical chemistry). One of the critical components of his research has been a focus on experiential analysis in addition to his lab work, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the human psychedelic interface.
In addition to psychedelic research, Dr. Casselman is the third generation of his family to work in the BC cannabis industry. Since 2015, he has been an executive-level Cannabis Science Advisor specializing in mentoring global cannabis companies to develop and implement sound business and scientific strategies for long-term growth and success. In past work, he regularly advised pre-IPO companies and performed vital leadership roles during the “go public” phase.
Dr. Casselman is also an experienced formulation chemist with a strong foundation in nutraceutical formulation and product development. He has led design teams that have produced several retail cannabis products for the legal Canadian and US markets. His experience developing herbal formulations, authentication, and quality control gives him unique insight into developing plant-based medicine products across various commercial applications.
Steph Martens
Steph is an ever-curious, agile entrepreneur, with a passion for building startups in emerging industries. Community, connection and passion build the platform Steph produces from and that is evident from all angles of her work. She is solutions-focused and believes that profession should be tied to purpose.
Formally educated in Psychology at Concordia University and with a postgraduate degree in Public Relations, Steph gained 10 years of public, private and not-for-profit communications experience in the healthcare, cannabis, fitness and wellness industries. Simultaneously, she built a successful 12 year career in hospitality and events management, while concurrently working at lululemon.
From 2014-2017 she was the GM of two high volume, Toronto-based pubs. One of which she opened - owning the hiring, training, processes, sales, operations and marketing. In 2015 she was granted an award for operational excellence, after building the establishment to earn $2.9 million and $3.2 million in revenue in its first two years of operation.
As the federally regulated cannabis market prepared to legalize in Canada, Steph moved to Vancouver to pursue a career in the industry and has consulted for a large variety of cannabis companies, serving an array of roles in areas of marketing, communications, events, business development, investor relations, sales, and product commercialization.
In 2019, she co-founded a creative digital media agency, Root Creative, that developed marketing strategy, digital and social implementation, events, lead generation, and communications for a variety of cannabis companies. In 2020, she founded Flamingo Consulting Ltd. and has been consulting in various capacities for cannabis clients. In 2022, she joined irlabs as its VP of Investor Relations and Communications, continuing to surround herself with entrepreneurs and executives, adding to her knowledge of building corporations.
Steph has learned by doing when it comes to business structure and systems, and excels in condensing complex information, building processes, and empowering others to lead.

There are two different ways to access this mastermind.
