Weekly Member Meetup - Cannabis & Sound Ceremony

  • 2188 York Ave Vancouver, BC, V6K 3E7 Canada (map)

Introducing Our Member Meetups

Every Wednesday during the Fall, we gather as a community at The Stretch Space to connect, expand and learn more about one another. Each week we invite local facilitators to join us in offering unique workshops with a different theme. Through these events, we seek to offer transformation, connection and peak experiences all while providing a container to connect with other like-minded people in the community.

These events are a continuation of our summer pop-ups but we are dedicating them to our Flying Sage members.

Please note as well that these events are a POTLUCK. If you intend to eat with us, please bring some food to share with others. We will NOT have a BBQ to cook food on so best to bring simple food items.

About This Week’s Workshop: Cannabis & Sound Ceremony

Although cannabis can be used recreationally, it is oftentimes overlooked as a spiritual tool. During this intimate ceremony we are going to focus on how cannabis can be used with intention as we sit together in meditation and sound. Together we will use cannabis to navigate emotion and find stillness in a powerful way. This event will be co-facilitated by Michael Oliver (co-founder of The Flying Sage) and Navin Sahjpaul (Music Therapist, BMT). We hope to see you there!

About This Week’s Facilitator:

Navin Sahjpaul

Navin is a Music Therapist, BMT and is deeply passionate about well-being, mental health, community building, healing, and is a believer in the idea that one can overcome life adversity and does not have to live an existence that consists mostly of pain and suffering

He is a Mental Health Advocate in his work, striving to remove the stigma surrounding mental illness by encouraging people to come together in a world that too often pushes us apart. In his own journey, he navigated through the unpleasant impacts that trauma can have on one's life on an emotional, somatic, and psychological level. After finding healing within his own body, spirit, and mind through music, mindfulness meditation, yoga, community, expressive arts, and a rigorous dedication to self-betterment, he discovered an inner calling to be of service in this world, lending a helping hand to others as they navigate their own experience of adversity.

Michael Oliver

Michael is a community builder and psychedelic practitioner based in Vancouver BC. Since graduating with a degree in Cognitive Systems from UBC, Michael worked in the psychedelic space for 3 years as the Volunteer Coordinator and Executive Assistant for MAPS Canada. Michael is also the co-founder of The Flying Sage, a psychedelic community and apparel brand on a mission to democratize transcendence. As well, through his own practice Legacy Journeys, Michael seeks to offer transformative psychedelic experiences towards embodiment and lasting change.
